ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

In elementary grades, we nurture a child’s natural love of learning with caring teachers and stimulating curriculum. We celebrate the early elementary years by encouraging exploration, emotional growth, fostering positive learning experiences, and of course, fun! Scholars in grades K-5 can choose from our project-based curriculum offering, and our hybrid text-based/online courses depending on the subject area and grade in which they are enrolled.

For younger scholars, an important component of their education process is to allow them to directly engage with their learning through hands on projects. The act of learning through hands-on activities helps to activate their brains in a way that is beneficial at this early age. Children ages 4-8 years of age tend to experience the world and learning as a part of a big experience. With that in mind, EYMA offers a curriculum for scholars that integrate the subjects and focuses on meaningful, engaging activities. Academic skills are woven into these larger learning experiences, where scholars explore them as a natural part of their day to day life.

Scholars in grades K-3 enroll in our project-based program, which integrates the content across language arts, math, science, and social studies. As scholars mature, the addition of text-based courses are introduced for each subject beginning in 4th grade, and online courses are offered as an option in 5th grade.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Scholars in the middle school grades vary in their levels of maturity. During these transformative years, it’s important that we focus on building self-esteem and laying the groundwork for success in High School, while continuing to nurture a natural love of learning.

The EYMA faculty strives to provide personal, social and academic support to all Middle School families with individualized academic plans and increased opportunities for student socialization and parental support networking.

Scholars in 6th through 8th grades can select from our hybrid text-based/online courses or may choose a combination of curriculum options as needed to create an optimal learning experience. In addition, beginning in 7th grade, scholars are eligible to join our online social network and clubs in an effort to foster positive socialization.

The flexibility of our hybrid Middle School program offers scholars the option to accelerate and prepare for the rigor of High School. Scholars can take high school level courses and earn credit that applies toward their high school graduation. At the onset of their high school experience, they receive academic and college guidance from a counselor to ensure they are on track to achieve their post-secondary goals and receive a High School academic plan.

HIGH SCHOOL

EYMA offers University of California A-G approved courses. The University of California and Board of Regents have a set of rigorous criteria by which they evaluate courses for approval. If upon enrollment at EYMA, you know that your child plans to apply to a University of California college, please inform our school counselor. The EYMA team will work with your family to ensure that your child’s academic plan is created with attention to UC standards.

EYMA also offers courses that carry NCAA approval. The NCAA follows a set of rigorous criteria by which they evaluate courses for approval. If upon enrollment at EYMA, you know that your scholar-athlete plans to participate in sports in college and be NCAA eligible, please inform our school counselor.

As part of EYMA's commitment to personalized academic success, we are proud to offer a selection of elective courses. These online, semester-long offerings allow scholars to pursue areas of interest outside their traditional core subjects, providing opportunities to extend learning and meet elective credit requirements. With titles such as Forensic Science, Entrepreneurship, Digital Photography, and Graphic Design, our elective courses help students create unique educational experiences and strong high school transcripts.

Children are like fingerprints, no two are alike. Knowing this, a child's academic program must be personalized to meet their unique needs.
